Little Big Planet, Little Little Servers. Cools/Lames.
Filed in Games, Main, Reviews, October 30, 2008, 11:26 pm by Evil InkSo I finally got my copy of Little Big Planet today. I kept my expectations low and avoided the reviews so my views are fresh and untainted.

I played the game for about 2 hours and I have to say that I am enjoying it very much.
This is going to be a short post and I’m going to just highlight what stood out and what others may have missed in their reviews.
Game buying season.
Filed in Games, Main, , 3:47 am by Evil InkI’ll admit that this is the first year I am officially transforming into a “core” gamer. Not because I’m good at playing games but because I have been following up on upcoming releases and have been hyped up by games that I usually avoid until reviews come out.
That said, this holiday season is epic for anyone following video games. I can’t compare to past years but I’m so excited for the releases coming out at the end of the year.

The only problem is that I can’t find the time to play everything.
So from a normal everyday person’s point of view, here are what I look forward to most until 2009. (Some are already out but still new.)
Me vs GF
Filed in Main, October 28, 2008, 9:03 pm by Evil Inkworthlessforums servers locked me out for the past few weeks so I couldn’t log on here to make any posts (I’m at school doing this). Anyways, been saving this post for a while so read on.
While doing homework at the library with Emily, we got bored and decided to draw the Pooh bear on her diary.
We both drew the bear in about 15minutes and decided to have a contest to see who drew the best pooh. What do you think?
Park ballers. Cools/Lames
Filed in Main, Sports, October 22, 2008, 11:14 pm by Evil InkGoing to the park to play basketball used to be a weekly thing for me and sadly I have not had much time to go to the park lately. Going 2-3 times a week was not unusual and so I met a lot of friends and interesting people at the park.

The park I go to has 3 full courts and they’re almost always filled at night so I’ve probably seen just about every type of street baller there is.
So what type of players are the coolest? What types are the worst?
Best sports commercials!
Filed in Main, Sports, October 20, 2008, 11:54 pm by Evil InkSports commercials are better than any other commercials. There is no debate because no other types of commercials can envoke the same feelings as a good sports commercial. Some commercials are funny, some are touching and some are scary but only sports commercials make you want to run out and play.
Here are some of my favorite sports commercials.
Scary games.
Filed in Games, Main, , 1:41 am by Evil InkI really like watching scary movies. Sure, I can’t watch any alone and sometimes I need a blanket to hide under but still. One thing I can’t do no matter what though is play scary games.
I remember way back in the days (when the best graphics back then can be seen on a PSP now) I couldn’t even play FPS games because they were too damn intense. I was always scared of every little thing that popped out. Even in CS I hated it when some enemy went around the same corner as me. I would shoot wildly in a mad panic hoping for a lucky head shot. I got better at playing FPS games but now I still can’t get over being too scared to play a scary game.

I’m always the CT
When Bioshock first came out I was pretty hyped up by friends and internets but when I played it I knew it wasn’t for me. It was pretty fun until those damn little freaks (splicers?) scared the crap out of me. So I just didn’t play it. A friend told me it was nothing and it really isn’t scary so one sunny day, I felt brave and installed Bioshock for PC. I reasoned that the tiny 15.4 inch screen on my laptop is much less scary than the 46in TV downstairs.
It’s ok to be too competitive. Right?
Filed in Main, October 19, 2008, 4:10 am by Evil InkI know i’m a pretty damn competitive person. I get freaking annoyed if I ever lose a game or competition no matter how meaningless it may be. I’m pretty sure most of my friends can see this in me.
My girlfriend says it’s bad and annoying but I think it’s no biggy.
Sure, I may be writing this to convince myself its ok to play ‘one more game’ of NBA 2k9 after a lost at 2am but whatever.
While playing basketball, I can most of the time separate which players are competitive and which are not. Not saying those who aren’t competitive don’t want to win but they won’t feel much if they lose. Know what I mean? What I also notice is that the competitive ones have an extra drive to their game. They’ll always be the ones who try harder and play more aggressively. Sure, they glare at you nonstop after they lose but I think that’s cool. Even when the player is shitty, I admire how much harder they try because they’re so damn competitive.
Which brings me to another point: I really don’t like playing with people who seem to act like they don’t care about winning or losing. Basically, the lack of effort a competitive person can easily muster up.
So yes, it is ok to be super competitive sometimes. Especially on the court/field/rink/track.

Kobe is competitive so he’s a cool guy.
